Wrench Report
RestoMods Head Mechanic. 20 year classic car mechanic & builder.
502 big block for the win! This '69 Chevelle has successfully graduated from a standard Malibu to a heavy-hitting SS tribute that actually has the muscle to back up the badges. Swapping the factory small-block for a 502ci big-block topped with a GM Ramjet fuel injection system turns this classic into a monster that starts on the first turn of the key. It looks every bit the part in Torch Red over Cragar SS wheels, and with a 12-bolt rear end spinning 3.73 gears, it's clearly built for more than just idling at car shows. It's a well sorted Chevelle that can be enjoyed as is air conditioning and all, or taken to the absolute limit with more suspension and braking upgrades.
Description
This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle was originally manufactured as a Malibu two-door sport coupe (VIN 13637) and has since been modified as an SS tribute. Finished in Torch Red over a black vinyl bucket seat interior, the car underwent a refurbishment that included the installation of a fuel-injected 502ci big-block V8 and several SS-style cosmetic upgrades. Features include air conditioning, power-assisted front disc brakes, and updated audio equipment. The car is now offered with a clean Michigan title by the selling dealer. The vehicle is located in Fraser, Michigan.

The exterior was refinished from its factory Garnet Red to the current Torch Red. Exterior details include an SS-style steel cowl hood, replaced chrome bumpers and trim, and SS badging.

The car maintains a classic muscle car stance on chrome Cragar SS wheels mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Lighting and glass remain in factory-style configuration, and the trunk is finished and carries a full-size spare and jack.

The engine bay houses a 502ci V8 equipped with a GM Ramjet fuel injection system and a GM aluminum intake manifold. Cooling is provided by an aluminum radiator, and spent gases exit through ceramic-coated headers leading to a 3" dual exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an automatic transmission with a console-mounted shifter and a 12-bolt rear end featuring 3.73:1 gears. The engine bay has been detailed and features various polished and painted surfaces.

The chassis and underbody are described as solid and clean throughout. Suspension components appear in stock configurations, complemented by power steering and power-assisted front disc brakes with rear drums. The 12-bolt rear axle and dual exhaust system are visible from the underside, with the 3" piping routed to the rear of the vehicle.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl. A center console houses the horseshoe-style automatic shifter, while the dashboard retains original instrumentation including a rally tachometer. Supplemental gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level have been added for increased monitoring. Modern updates include a cold-blowing air conditioning system and a Pioneer stereo linked to an upgraded sound system. Factory-style seat belts are retained for all occupants.

Comments & Bid History
What type of auto transmission is planted in this ‘69? TH400? 4L80E?
The reserve is probably at least 80K. Judt sayin'... you're wasting your time with petty penny pinching bids.
Why don't you guys put in a real man's bid and just get it iver with instead of acting like boyz at the bike rack after school??? Lol
