Wrench Report
RestoMods Head Mechanic. 20 year classic car mechanic & builder.
Okay, anyone who knows me knows that I'm a big fan of a well-built Tri-Five, so when I see one in the wild it better be built right. I can tell you right now that this 210 post coupe is definitely built right. Excellent choice going with the 430-horse LS3, but what's just as important here is you don't have to fend for yourself with that kind of power increase. The triangulated rear 4-link, tubular front control arms and power disc brakes turn it into a modern performer. The 4L60 setup is perfectly fine for a cruiser, and it's an easy swap for something stronger if you really want it. This is such a tastefully done Tri-Five that I'm going to have to restrain myself from hitting the bid button while my '55 sits at home waiting to be finished.
Description
Originally an inline-6 cylinder 2 door post sport coupe assembled at the Flint, Michigan plant, this 1957 Chevrolet 210 has undergone a full restoration and modification that includes an LS3 V8 swap, bumping this 210's horsepower to 430 horsepower over the stock inline-6's meager 140 horsepower. Further modernizing this 210's performance include a host of other upgrades like tubular A-arms with adjustable coilover shocks, triangulated 4-link with adjustable coilovers in the rear, and 4 wheel power disc brakes. The vehicle is being offered with a clean Florida title by the selling dealer Survivor Classic Car Services (Dealer ID# V1/1128222/1). The vehicle is located in Palmetto, Florida.

The vehicle has been equipped with 17 inch Ridler alloy wheels in the front, and 20 inch Ridler wheels in the rear, and rides on Pirelli P-Zero tires (225/45/ZR17 front; 275/35/R20 rear).

During the restoration, the 235ci stovebolt inline-6 was swapped for a 6.2L LS3 V8 engine, producing 430 horsepower on pump gas. The engine is paired to a 4L60E automatic transmission, with cooling provided by a Griffin aluminum radiator and single electric fan. A cold air intake is installed near the grille. Also visible is a new master cylinder and brake booster for the power disc brakes.

Under the vehicle, the 10-bolt rear end can be seen, along with the triangulated 4-link rear suspension with coilovers. The vehicle has tubular upper and lower control arms with coilovers in the front. Also visible are the front and rear power disc brakes, a new fuel tank, a custom exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers, and a new driveshaft. The selling dealer also notes that the vehicle has power steering.

The interior has also been fully restored with new upholstery, including new black and red bucket seats, a matching red headliner, new black carpet, custom color matched door panels, and a center console with cupholders.
