It is pretty rare to find a '62 Nova convertible that hasn't been lost to the elements, and this one has clearly been built to be a reliable California cruiser. It's ditched the original inline-six for a punchy 355ci small block, and with FiTech fuel injection and an American Autowire harness, the typical vintage headache has been swapped for turn-key reliability. The gold-on-black color combo gives it a sharp, period-correct look, while the US Mags Ramblers and front disc brakes tell you this is more than a stock restoration. With less than 100 miles since the build was finished, it's basically a brand-new car under a classic 1960s skin.
Description
This 1962 Chevy II Nova 400 is a true convertible that originally came from the factory with an inline-6 cylinder, but has since gone through a considerable restoration and modification that now features a 355ci small block Chevy V8 paired to a TH350 automatic and several other upgrades. The vehicle is located in Riverside, California and is being offered by the private seller with a clean California title.
At some point in the car's history, this Nova received a full exterior restoration, and was painted in the current gold color scheme. The seller notes that the convertible top is new, and all of the chrome accented trim is new, as well as the chrome bumpers.
The vehicle now rides on 18 inch US Mags Rambler wheels in a polished black and aluminum finish. The vehicle has also undergone a front disc brake conversion with drilled and slotted rotors.
The 355ci V8 engine is said to be recently rebuilt, and features a new American Autowire electrical harness, new spark plugs and FiTech Fuel Injection. Engine cooling is provided by a Champion aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The vehicle also has a new master cylinder and brake booster.
In addition to the front disc brakes, this Nova convertible also rides on all new suspension components and new front control arms.
The interior features all new black upholstery, including new front vinyl bucket seats, new carpet, new rear bench cover, and new door panels. The dashboard has new paint and features Dakota Digital gaugues. The seller notes that most everything installed on the car has less than 100 miles on it.
