This '68 Malibu is a great example of an entry-level restomod that focuses on getting the look and the comfort right for a weekend cruiser. Moving away from the original 307 and 3-speed manual for a 350ci small block and a TH350 automatic makes this a much more user-friendly driver, and you have to appreciate the brand-new floor pan and that 2 year old black paint job. The interior is really where this car shines as a driver, with those upgraded Procar seats and a center console with cupholders; that make a huge difference if you're actually out on the road. On the mechanical side, it's good to see modern cooling with the dual electric fans and new steering linkage, and though the front disc brakes look like an older conversion, that's still going to be leagues better than old drum brakes up front. The JEGS wheels and BMR lowering springs give it a killer stance and some added handling, but keep in mind this is not an extreme pro-tourer to go carving corners in. Think of it as a fantastic canvas for that extreme build if you have the extra resources, or just enjoy this solid, rust free A-body simply as-is.
Description
This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu is a freshly modified example with a 350ci Chevy small block V8, a 350 automatic transmission, and some performance upgrades. Originally a 307ci small block 3-speed manual car, this Chevelle has gone through recent restoration work that included a black paint job that was completed in 2024, installation of a new floor pan and a new interior that was completed around February of this year. This 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle is now being offered by a private seller with a clean California title.
The seller notes that the exterior had a repaint to black in 2024, and most of the exterior trim was replaced.
The vehicle now has new JEGS 18" wheels wrapped in Lexani performance tires. Also equipped are LED headlights.
The 350ci engine features a replacement aftermarket air cleaner, aftermarket aluminum valve covers, with cooling provided by an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. The car also has a new steering linkage and bushings.
The car's suspension has been upgraded with new BMR front and rear lowering springs, and braking has been upgraded with an older front disc brake conversion. Also under the vehicle is a stainless exhaust with Magnaflow mufflers, and turn-down style tips.
In addition to the new floor pan, the interior features new Procar by SCAT front seats, new rear bench seat, center console with cupholders, new Inteletronics gauge cluster, and a Forever Sharp steering wheel. The seller also notes that the interior has a new carpet, new headliner, new door panels, new window cranks and new door openers. The vehicle is located in Riverside, CA.
