Low and not slow. This '72 Blazer is easily a six-figure custom build that's been dialed in to the absolute limit. Seeing a K5 on a powder-coated frame with Porterbuilt drop members and an Accuair E-Level system tells you right away it's built for that perfect "lay-frame" stance, but the real surprise is under the hood. Most guys would stop at a naturally aspirated LS, but this build goes all in with a cammed 6.0L topped with an LSA supercharger and a T56. Being able to row through your own gears in a supercharged, bagged Blazer is a total trip guaranteed to be unlike any other driving experience. Sure you're ripping a 600+ horsepower truck on bags but it's just downright cool. The color combo is great, and the custom removable rag top is a killer detail you don't see often. Fun to see a someone take the highly desired Blazer, and take a different well built direction other than the traditional Off-Road approach.
Description
This 1972 Chevy K5 Blazer is said to be a frame-off restoration that was completed in 2024. In addition to a powder coated frame with front and rear Porterbuilt drop members, this 2-wheel drive Blazer has received a host of many other upgrades, including an LSA supercharged and cammed 6.0L LS V8, Accuair E-Level air management system, big AZProPerformance disc brakes, a custom rag top shell with sliding windows, and much more. The vehicle is being offered with a clean California title by a private seller located in Ontario, California.
As part of the frame-off restoration, the body was painted in gloss Tuxedo Black with paint correction and a ceramic coat also completed, and the removable top was painted white. The body received all new trim, badging, and new glass, including sliding glass windows in the removable top.
The vehicle rides on custom 3-piece 22 inch NewGen wheels in a chrome finish. Also visible are the AZProPerformance Big Brakes, equipped at the front and rear.
The engine bay received an overhaul with custom sheet metal for the firewall and inner fenders, and is all painted matte black. The engine is a cammed 6.0L LS that has an LSA supercharger equipped, as well as a cold air intake system, Scott spark plug wires, and a custom Holley mid-mount accessory drive to work with the LSA supercharger. Also installed is a new Wilwood polished master cylinder with a new brake booster, an aluminum radiator with a single electric fan, and custom headers that flow into a 3 inch Borla exhaust. The engine is paired to a Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission.
Underneath the truck, the powder-coated frame now has front and rear Porterbuilt Fabrication drop members for a lower maximum ride height, along with an Accuair E-Level airbag management system with airbag shocks in the front and rear. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Currie 9 inch rear end with 3.70 gears.
The Blazer's interior has been completely redone, with custom red leather front bucket seats, color matched door panels, center console with cupholders, floor shifter boot, carpet, and dashboard with Dakota Digital gauges. The seller notes the rear floorpan also has all new sheet metal. The airbag management system is operated by a hidden controller located near the driver. Other custom features include new interior trim, new window cranks and door openers, new pedals, a new Ididit chrome steering column with a chrome finished wood grip steering wheel, power windows, Vintage Air A/C, and a Retrosound stereo.
Seen above is the Blazer's color matched rear bench seat, which is also completely custom to the vehicle.
