Wrench Report

By Chris Esparza

RestoMods Head Mechanic. 20 year classic car mechanic & builder.

This bright yellow '57 "post" coupe is a textbook example of a mid-2000s street machine that was built right. It takes a solid 210 base and dials up the aggressive hot rod factor, pairing those unmistakable Bel Air tribute rear fins with a set of 17-inch Billet Specialties "Psycho" wheels. It stays true to its old-school mechanical roots with a built 350 small block and a four-speed manual, but the chassis has been seriously modernized. With a full 4-link rear, adjustable coilovers all around, and four-wheel power discs, this Tri-Five handles a hell of a lot better than it did in 1957. Showing just over 4,200 miles since the build was wrapped up 12 years ago, this will definitely catch attention and appreciation as you cruise without the boaty handling and ride.

Description

This 1957 Chevrolet 210 Restomod blends iconic Tri-Five styling with upgraded V8 performance and modern cruising comfort, delivering an enhanced driving experience that stays true to its classic American roots while offering the reliability, power, and convenience expected from a contemporary build. Restoration was completed 12-years ago, showing just 4,214 miles since completion, this 210 has been enjoyed primarily as a weekend cruiser and show car. This vehicle is sold by a dealer. License ID #VI/1128222/1

With its elegant rear fins and anodized aluminum side trim panels. Even though this 1957 Chevrolet is not a Bel-Air, but instead a 210, it still pays tribute those iconic aluminum sails and badging. The Exterior is painted in this bright yellow, which helps accentuate the chrome & Vintage 17in Billet Specialties "Pyscho" Wheels.

Power comes from a built 5.7 Liter 350 CID V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. Under the hood, the engine bay is highly detailed with polished billet and chrome accents, a Holley 4-barrel carburetor, Weiand Team-G raised intake manifold, ceramic-coated long-tube headers, aluminum radiator, and dual electric cooling fans. Performance and drivability upgrades include electronic ignition, power steering, and 4-wheel power disc brakes.

The suspension has also been upgraded for improved handling and stance, featuring adjustable coil-overs at all four corners, tubular front control arms, a larger sway bar, and rear 4-link ladder bars. Riding on Billet Specialties "Pyscho" wheels, the car presents with an aggressive yet tasteful hot rod appearance that perfectly complements the bright yellow finish and signature 1957 Chevrolet styling cues.

Inside, the custom black vinyl interior combines classic aesthetics with modern convenience. Seats have been upgraded with a 1963 Impala-style seating with front buckets and rear bench seating, along with a floor-mounted Hurst shifter and tilt steering column. Comfort features include Classic Auto Air A/C, tinted glass, intermittent wipers, and an upgraded audio system with AM/FM/CD, Bluetooth connectivity, iPod hookup, subwoofer, and power antenna. Gauge cluster has also been upgraded with a tachometer and additional gauges for a more driver-focused experience.
