Vintage drop-top styling and reliable modern pony car running gear. You don't see many 4.6-liter modular V8 swaps on these cars, but that engine paired with a Tremec five-speed manual is going to give you all the modern performance you need to enjoy this Mustang while keeping it safe thanks to all-wheel disc brakes and coilover front suspension.

Description

This 1967 Ford Mustang convertible is a custom restomod that blends classic first-generation pony car style with the reliable modern powertrain of a late-model pony car. Finished in a vintage color scheme, the car features an upgraded modular V8 engine, a five-speed manual transmission, and extensive body modifications. Designed to deliver a modern pro-touring driving experience with updated ergonomics and stopping power, this Mustang is now offered with a clean Kentucky title by the selling dealer.

The exterior is finished in classic Wimbledon White contrasted by Vapor Silver "Super Snake" dual center sport stripes, applied by painter Jim Defew. The body lines are augmented by a Meier Racing Eleanor-style body kit, which includes an aggressive front fascia, side skirts, side-exit exhaust treatments, a custom hood, and an integrated rear lip spoiler. Additional exterior updates include halo headlights, integrated grille fog lights, and Shelby-style sequential LED taillights, all operating underneath a black cloth power-folding convertible top that shows a small hole from normal use.

The Mustang rides on 17-inch American Racing Torq Thrust wheels featuring gray centers and polished lips. The classic five-spoke wheels are mounted with a brand-new set of Nitto performance radial tires, sized 235/45ZR17 in the front and a wider 255/45ZR17 at the rear. Custom side-exit exhaust tips are neatly integrated into the lower rocker panels, and an aluminum driveshaft serves to reduce rotational mass under the chassis.

The modernized cockpit features upgraded high-back bucket seats sourced from a 2007 Mustang GT California Special (GT/CS), upholstered in black and gray leather. A custom-fabricated center console runs between the front seats, providing integrated storage and modern ergonomics. The cabin floors are covered in fresh black carpeting, and the rear bench seat has been upholstered to match the upgraded front buckets.

The driver is presented with a three-spoke, wood-rimmed steering wheel mounted to a tilting Ididit steering column. Positioned in the floor is a B&M short-throw shifter managing the five-speed manual gearbox. The black padded dashboard houses a set of retro-styled Autolite gauges, which feature a modern GPS-linked speedometer for precise vehicle velocity tracking alongside vital engine pressure and temperature readouts.

The engine compartment has been converted to house a fuel-injected 4.6-liter SOHC modular V8 sourced from a 2005 Mustang GT. The modern powerplant is managed by a Ford Racing engine computer that has been professionally dyno-tuned, and it draws air through a custom dual-intake system equipped with K&N cone filters. The engine bay is fitted with an aluminum radiator backed by dual electric cooling fans, and power is sent to the rear axle via a Tremec TR-3650 five-speed manual transmission.

The chassis handles with contemporary precision thanks to a fully adjustable front coilover suspension setup paired with a modern power steering conversion. Braking performance has been thoroughly updated using a power-assisted Baer four-wheel disc brake system featuring a CPP master booster, braided lines, and cross-drilled and slotted rotors measuring 13 inches in the front and 11.5 inches at the rear.
