Description
This 1952 Ford flatbed truck is a custom four-wheel-drive restomod that was completed two years ago on a Chevrolet "square-body" chassis. Power is provided by a Cummins 6BT turbodiesel inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. The truck has been driven approximately 2,000 miles since the build was completed, serving as a frequent local show participant and daily driver for the seller. It is now offered with a North Carolina Special Construction title (titled as a 1952 Ford), leftover paint, and a history of local event accolades. Additional photos of the build process are included in the gallery.

The exterior features a 1952 Ford cab finished in an unspecified blue and black two tone paint color, accented by a custom-fabricated rack body made from 2x4x3/16" steel tubing. The flatbed floor consists of finished wood slats, which the seller notes will require a fresh clear coat due to sun exposure. The paint exhibits a few minor blemishes, and the truck retains standard commercial-style mirrors and cab trim. LED headlights are installed, and the vehicle rides on replacement heavy-duty polished wheels and Cooper Discoverer AT3 tires suited for the updated chassis.

The engine bay houses a Cummins 6BT diesel engine that features replacement fuel injectors and an updated fueling system. Cooling is managed by a heavy-duty radiator setup, and a replacement high-output alternator handles the electrical system. Power is routed through an SM465 four-speed manual transmission with a low "granny" first gear, an NP205 transfer case, and replacement driveshafts.

The body is mounted to a Chevrolet square-body frame equipped with a GM 10-bolt front axle and a 14-bolt rear axle utilizing 3.73:1 gears. The chassis updates include a replacement clutch, new springs, and replacement shocks at all four corners. The four-wheel-drive system is supported by power-assisted steering and a fully overhauled power braking system utilizing all-new components.

The cab features a functional layout equipped with modern air conditioning and power steering. Interior appointments include a bench seat, a floor-mounted transmission shifter, a separate transfer case selector, and standard pedal assemblies. The seller notes that all clutch and brake wear components were replaced during the build process, and the utilitarian dashboard retains a simplified gauge layout. True chassis mileage is unknown.
